Licences and Permits
A licence is required to fish for Salmon and Sea Trout. No licence is required for Brown Trout. You can buy a licence online at or at Tuck’s Main Street, Oughterard (Beside our Connemara Lake Hotel).

Sea Trout are protected in Connemara and must be released. A license can be obtained for one day (€20), 21 days (€40), under 18 (€10).

A licence does not confer the right to fish, a fishing permit is usually required. A permit costs between €20 and €50 per day.
